Cosmere RPG Stormlight Fulfillment Starting Soon!

Happy August, Radiants! Since the last update, we've been celebrating the digital release of the Stormlight Campaign Setting and recovering from a very successful Gen Con where samples of the RPG were the star of the show.

This update brings fantastic news: Our original fulfillment timeline is on track, and shipping of rewards is beginning! As a reminder, we are only fulfilling Stormlight Campaign Setting items in this wave. Mistborn fulfillment is a second wave, and will happen in September of next year.

Included below are notes on last minute address updates. NO ADDRESS CHANGES WILL BE PROCESSED THROUGH BROTHERWISE AT THIS POINT, BECAUSE BACKER LISTS HAVE BEEN HANDED OFF TO ALL FULFILLMENT PARTNERS. However, please continue to direct all questions about digital rewards to [email protected].

Length of the Fulfillment Process:

Shipping is expected to take up to 10 weeks across all regions, including the US. Before reaching out to our customer support team, please review the updates and comments section for the latest information on your zone.

We will post minor fulfillment updates in our comments section for this campaign while we await more information for significant updates. You can also join our Discord community and ask any questions in the Kickstarter channels. 

Once you receive tracking information for your order, it may take up to 72 hours for the number to update as it enters the shipping system. Please refrain from contacting our customer service team during this time period, as we won't be able to provide any updates.

Zone Specific Notes:

UNITED STATES 🇺🇸

Since we have partnered with Dragonsteel for fulfillment in the United States, from this point forward, all U.S. based backers should direct their requests related shipments and physical rewards to the Dragonsteel support team.

If you have a last minute update to your shipping address, Dragonsteel needs to know about it right now. You can check the address we have on record for you by reviewing your backer survey at https://the-stormlight-archive-rpg.backerkit.com/backer/review.

You can then submit a support ticket at https://support.dragonsteelbooks.com/support/tickets/new. Dragonsteel support can assist with address updates, pledge questions, and address any concerns related to your physical rewards once they ship.

US orders should begin shipping as early as next week, but again, we expect the entirety of US fulfillment to take up to 10 weeks, so please don't panic if you don't receive a tracking email immediately.

CANADA 🇨🇦

Fulfillment for Canadian backers should begin next week! We are partnering with Pick & Pack Logistics for Canada and all Canadian backers should receive a confirmation email from Pick & Pack to update your shipping address. We've heard that these emails are already starting to go out!

EU/UK 🌍

Because of the longer transit times to get product from our factories to the EU/UK, product is still arriving at this hub. At this time we expect EU/UK fulfillment to begin sometime in September, as originally scheduled. Prior to that beginning, every EU/UK backer will receive an email from GamesQuest offering one last final address change and address confirmation. 

ASIA 🌏

Asian (and some Rest of the World) fulfillment is being handled by VFI in China. They should begin shipping to their local hubs by late August, but our past experience suggests that the total fulfillment process for Asia and Rest of World could take up to 10 weeks. 

AUSTRALIA 🌏

Australian and New Zealand fulfillment is being led by VR Logistics. VR has confirmed that the product has arrived and will spend the next two weeks processing the inventory and prepping the campaign. We expect fulfillment proper will begin soon after that. Prior to shipping, we expect that VR will send emails confirming shipping address. When we have a more firm start date we will update you all.

LATAM 🗺️

Due to the complexities of shipping to the many countries we have backers in in Latin America, we will be shipping all LATAM product from Florida. We don't expect this process to begin until mid-September. A reminder that LATAM is not covered by our VAT-friendly policies, and LATAM backers will have to cover import duties for their rewards (this would have been the case even if we had been shipping this product from within Latin America). You should check your country's duties percentage and compare to your original pledge level to calculate what level of duty you will need to cover.

Digital Launch Party and Speak the Words!

This week we have a lot to celebrate. The Digital Pre-Launch for the Cosmere RPG is now fully underway. While we've experienced some delays in delivery (especially for VTT codes), all backers should now have access to your digital rewards in BackerKit. If you're having any trouble, you can contact [email protected] so we can ensure you get all your rewards!

Today is also the day that we launch our Stormlight Summer Add-Ons for folks who backed those extra rewards! Read on for details, and a party invitation!

Cosmere RPG Digital Launch Party

To celebrate this exciting week, we're hosting a "Stage" event on the Cosmere RPG Discord server from 2-4 PM EST today. (If you just received this update, that's right now!)

During the launch party, the RPG team is discussing development stories and answering questions from the community. This will be our first time hosting a Stage event on Discord, so we'll be learning as we go; however, we're aware that there is a 300-person audience limit in Discord when sharing video. For anyone who can't make it, we'll upload it to the Brotherwise Games YouTube channel later today! We don't want anybody to miss out on the fun.

This event also celebrates a promotion for one of our key team members: Meric Moir! An outstanding member of our team, Meric has already been promoted from Writer to Lead Writer behind the scenes, and today we're officially announcing his new full-time role at Brotherwise: RPG Director for the Plotweaver system! For more about Meric, and what his new role will entail, join the party!

Stormlight Summer Add-Ons

Thanks so much to everyone who supported the Stormlight Summer Add-Ons! If you did, your copies of Chasmfiend Magazine and Speak the Words should now be waiting in your Digital Downloads for that mini-campaign. Please note that for Speak the Words, you should see two files: the actual adventure PDF, and a separate "Speak the Words Content Pack" ZIP file that contains maps, handouts, and character sheets.

Set in the year after Oathbringer, this short adventure is a great way to introduce the setting to Stormlight newbies, because it hits a lot of the world's unique details in just a few scenes: a highstorm, war between Alethi people and Odium's forces, nascent Radiant powers, and swearing the First Ideal.

Speak the Words Video

Speaking of those Words, we have a great video to share of the new adventure in action! DocSun, a key member of our Metalworks development team, has put together an awesome prototype version of Speak the Words for Foundry VTT. Here, he's using it to play the Cosmere RPG for the first time with a who's-who lineup of Cosmere content creators!

This is a very entertaining playthrough, but i's full of spoilers for Speak the Words, so don't watch it if you're going to play the adventure. If you plan to read or GM it, don't miss this video!

Hello, intrepid adventurers! As many of you know, today is our early digital release for the Cosmere RPG Stormlight Campaign Setting! Since early this morning, over 850,000 files have been distributed to our backers — and with such a large file distribution, we've experienced a few hiccups along the way. Luckily, our hardworking team is working through all of those issues.

We're so excited that you have the digital materials in your hands and that you're already setting up games! We'll use this update to answer some FAQs and help out with VTT support questions. 

But first, let's just take a moment to celebrate this awesome RPG! We're hearing awesome feedback from backers and starting to see some very positive press coverage, like this rave review from ComicBook.com:

Claiming Your VTT Rewards

If you added any of the enhanced digital PDFs or VTT upgrades to your pledge, then this section is for you! Below you will find a breakdown of how to claim your rewards for each VTT platform! (Please note that VTT upgrades were not included in any of the pledge levels, and were only available as add-on. If you didn't add VTTs to your order, you can visit Roll20/Demiplane, Foundry, and Fantasy Grounds to get the Cosmere RPG online today!)

Before beginning any of the steps listed below, you will need to access your VTT code through your Digital Downloads on Backerkit. There you will find access key(s) for your chosen VTT. Once you have found your code, follow the instructions for your chosen VTT below:

Demiplane/Roll20

The team at Demiplane shared this helpful doc on accessing Cosmere RPG content on Demiplane, Roll20, and DriveThruRPG! However, if you added a VTT upgrade to your pledge, you will need to first input your URL code to get your content. To proceed, simply click the URL or copy it into your browser, which will then direct you to a checkout page on DriveThruRPG with a total of $0.00. Once you finish the "checkout" process, you will have your Cosmere RPG VTT content linked to your account!

Fantasy Grounds

To unlock your Fantasy Grounds VTT content, go to FantasyGrounds.com and visit Store > Activate a Product to log in and enter your unique key for each product. Open the Fantasy Grounds VTT application and be sure to click the 'Check for Updates' button before launching your session to ensure you pull in your Cosmere RPG content. You can also follow this guide on key activation.

Foundry

To unlock your Foundry content, head to FoundryVTT.com. Log in to your account, and click on your user profile in the upper-right-hand corner. Once there, click "Purchased Content" and input your content key for each module you have purchased. You can also follow this guide for content activation. Don't forget to download the free Cosmere RPG system once you get started!

If you're having additional issues with your VTT integration beyond receiving your content keys and codes, please reach out to the respective VTT platform with your issue:

Problems and Solutions

With the complexity of this rollout, we have run into a few complications while delivering these files to our 55,000+ backers! Along the way, we've had some issues that have been addressed or are actively getting resolved:

Duplicate PDFs

In general, PDF distribution has gone smoothly! However, a lot of backers are reporting duplicate PDFs, like receiving a "World Guide Part 2" file that's just a copy of the original. These were a result of how we had to break down pledge rewards for complex orders. You can simply ignore the extra copies. Our apologies for any confusion! 

STL Files

We have been made aware of two issues with the new miniatures STL bundle: the Chull file is missing from that set (though it is included in the "2024 Miniatures" set). We're also hearing that the Skybreaker STL isn't opening properly. We're working to update these files, which we should be able to place in your BackerKit Digital Downloads within the next 48 hours. 

VTT Codes

Distributing VTT codes took much longer than expected. We have worked with BackerKit on this, and your VTT codes should now be in your BackerKit account! If you still have your VTT code as "pending," please reach out to our support team!

Foundry Version

Our talented Foundry team has been working for the past year on the first release of Stormlight Campaign Setting rules for the Cosmere RPG. Toward the end of this time, Foundry shifted from v12 to v13, but for the sake of stability our Foundry module is still v12-compatible. If you're only using Foundry for Cosmere games, you should install v12. Otherwise, it's possible to have both versions installed (with v13 as a "portable" installation). Either way, the Foundry implementation is excellent! The team's top priority after launch is v13 compatibility, which should be in place before the physical books ship. 

Bridge Nine

The Bridge Nine adventure includes an adventure PDF and a printable handout of maps and tokens. It should also include a PDF of pregenerated characters, but they were initially missing from Digital Downloads. Those files should now be available in BackerKit, and are also available on our website.

The First Step VTT Module

Initially, The First Step was not included in any of the VTT packages since this adventure is a "theater of the mind" module with only one short battle. But after listening to backer feedback, we are now including The First Step in the Digital-Only Set and the GM Enhanced Digital upgrade! Over the next 24 hours, we'll add that code to every eligible backer's Digital Downloads.

Digital GM Screen

We've heard from a lot of backers who wanted a digital version of the GM screen, and we're making that happen! A digital, print-ready version of the GM screen will be added for anyone whose pledge has the GM screen in their order. You should now download this file in your BackerKit Digital Downloads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I noticed an issue/typo in one of the books. Where do I submit feedback?
A: We appreciate your feedback! Please use our Cosmere RPG Issue Reporting Form for all typos, bugs, and other issues in the book contents.

Q: I received duplicate files! What do I do?
You may see duplicate PDFs in your Digital Downloads. For example, you may see 2 or 3 copies of the Stormlight Handbook. Please simply ignore the duplicate files; this is just how the system processed the SKUs.

Q: The PDFs are cool, but when are we getting the physical items?
A: All Stormlight rewards are on the way to the six fulfillment zones, which means that we are well on track to begin fulfillment in September! If you're regretting not getting a physical book as a part of your pre-order, no need to worry. There will be a traditional retail release in Q4 of this year, just in time for the holidays!

Q: Where can we find digital resources for the Cosmere RPG?
A: Just head to the Resources & Downloads page at CosmereRPG.com! We've got a brand-new website ready for this release, with some awesome downloads, including form-fillable character sheets and streaming assets for actual play groups. Stay tuned for more downloads in the future.

Q: Where can I find the solo rules for The First Step?
A: You can find the solo content for The First Step on our website: www.cosmererpg.com/the-first-step

Q: When are we getting Chasmfiend 2 and Speak the Words?
A: We are sending the Stormlight Summer Add-Ons on Friday, July 25th!

Q: What about Advanced Adversaries, Stormlight Scenarios, and Showdown in Shadesmar?
A: Those are later releases. Look for the first two e-supplements in September! Showdown in Shadesmar will be delivered in Fall 2026 (after Mistborn rewards in the summer).

Q: Can I upload content about the Cosmere RPG on my YouTube channel, podcast, or personal website?
A: The short answer is yes! You'll want to check out our Fan Content Policy for the full information.

Digital Pre-Launch Tomorrow!

Happy day before Digital Pre-Launch, Radiants!

Tomorrow, July 23rd, is a big day for the Cosmere RPG: we'll be rolling out digital rewards tomorrow morning! That means you're just a day away from receiving your PDFs, VTT codes, and miniature STLs you ordered.

As long as you completed your survey, you'll be able to download your materials starting at 10 am Eastern time by logging in to your BackerKit account. We'll be sending reminder emails to all backers, but those will go out over the course of the day and you don't need to wait for them!

If you're unsure about accessing your downloads, you can find step-by-step instructions here. If you have any issues, our customer support team is ready to help! Just reach out via [email protected] and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.

PDFs:  Getting Your Digital Books

Tomorrow morning, July 23rd, we'll hit "launch" in Backerkit's digital distibution tool. Emails will begin launching to all backers with links to your personal file download page on BackerKit. Be advised that due to the large number of backers, emails could take up to 8 hours to fully release, so you might not get your notification until later in the day. (However, as noted above, everyone's files should be ready to download by 10 am EST.)

Once you get your email, there will be a link to your personal file download page. When you click that link, it will take you to a page that looks like this:

From this page you can download individual PDFs. You should see a PDF for every hardcover and softcover book you purchased via the campaign, and depending on your pledge level, you may see some other items as well. Please note the user agreement!

Here are some answers to questions you might have tomorrow:

Q: I'm having issues logging into my BackerKit account to get these files. Who do I contact?
A: For BackerKit access issues, please use this page to contact their support staff.

Q: I don't see PDFs that I'm suppose to have. What do I do?
A: If you are missing files that you expected to see, you can contact Brotherwise at [email protected].

Q: I don't see Advanced Adversaries and Stormlight Scenarios in my downloads. How do I get those?
A: Those two "e-supplement" files will be delivered in September alongside physical fulfillment. Pushing those back helped us hit our due dates for all the core sourcebooks, and gives everyone something to look forward to!

Q: What if I want to wait for the physical books?
A: No problem! If you ordered physical books, you're also entitled to the PDFs waiting in your BackerKit downloads. But we totally understand if you prefer to read these books when you can hold them in your hands. The good news is that we're still right on track to begin physical fulfillment in September.

STLs: Ready-to-Print Miniatures

If you purchased the miniature STL files, you'll find them in BackerKit along with your PDFs. We've spent the last couple of months testing and optimizing these files for 3D printing, include supported and unsupported versions of the characters. For the purposes of downloading, they should behave just like the PDFs above.

VTTs: Gaining Access to Your Modules

For any backers who opted into one of three Virtual Tabletops supported by the campaign, your BackerKit downloads will also find a set a of access keys for your respective VTT. Just look in Digital Downloads, and you'll see a digital code for your VTT of choice. Visit that VTT's website to enter that code and unlock your content!

Approaching the Destination

We have now closed digital pre-orders for Stormlight sourcebooks. Starting tomorrow, if you want Stormlight Campaign Setting PDFs or VTTs, you can purchase them on DriveThruRPG or at your preferred VTT's online store. 

The distribution of these digital files means we have also closed refunds for any Stormlight physical rewards. At this point, everything is locked in! We're delighted that physical production is complete and all Stormlight products are officially en route to our six fulfillment zones. That means we’re right on track with our scheduled delivery plan.

We couldn't be more excited for folks to start playing this RPG, but we'll also ask for your patience during this digital rollout. We have more than 55,000 backers and a lot of permutations of possible rewards, so it'll be a small miracle if this goes off without a hitch. Thanks in advance for bearing with us as we do our best to deliver your rewards!

Digital Rewards and Add-Ons Coming Soon!

Greetings, Radiants! We've got plenty to share in today's update, and much of it relates to fulfillment, so please read through this whole update carefully! Who knows, you might even find a spren or two lurking in the details.

Address Lockdown

In previous updates, we announced that mailing addresses would be officially locked on BackerKit after July 1st. This was a necessary cutoff so we could send shipping lists to the various fulfillment zones. After our last update, our support inbox saw a significant increase in address requests. (Normally, we respond within 1-2 days, but due to this surge, our current response time is 5-6 days.) Please rest assured, we have all incorporated all address change requests that were sent via BackerKit or [email protected] by July 2nd.

FAQ: But I might move between fulfillment for the Stormlight books this year and the Mistborn books next year! How will you handle that?
Never fear! We know there's a lot of time between the two waves of RPG fulfillment and we've confirmed BackerKit that we can reopen address changes after the Stormlight books have fully shipped. You'll be able to update your address yourself at that time, and we'll send a reminder to do so next summer. 

Speaking of RPG fulfillment...

Zone Fulfillment Updates

At this point ALL product is either on the water, at its respective fulfillment zone, or somewhere in between. This doesn't mean fulfillment is right around the corner, but it is getting closer and we're on track to begin fulfillment in all zones by early September. There's still a lot that has to happen between now and then given the size of this campaign: checking product quantities, setting up labels, preparing shipping cartons, and sorting through the complex fulfillment picks. But we're happy to report that we're on track for a timely fulfillment process!

Stormlight Summer Add-Ons

In our last update, we announced the new Stormlight Summer Add-Ons. Our team created these fun new digital offerings as a way to provide some exciting content, and to help Brotherwise offset the costs of unexpected tariffs. You can get digital copies of Chasmfiend magazine (including an advance copy of Volume 2) and an awesome new adventure called Speak the Words. Thanks to the thousands of you who have already opted into these Add-Ons!

You should have received an email from BackerKit inviting you into the online store for these, but we experienced some technical difficulties that sent a higher-than-usual number of emails to spam. We'll send a new reminder email for the Stormlight Summer Add-Ons tomorrow, or you can access the BackerKit shop directly via this link. Please note that this checkout process is separate from the main campaign, so your shopping cart will not reflect your previous rewards.

Digital Pre-Launch

We're now just two weeks away from our digital pre-launch! On July 23, we'll begin sending all the digital rewards for this campaign: sourcebook PDFs, miniature STLs, and product keys for VTTs. You can expect that process to take a couple of days, but by the end of this month you'll be able to play this RPG! We'll send the Stormlight Summer Add-Ons starting July 25, once we've had a chance to prioritize the core rewards.
